The University of Iceland Student Counselling and Career Centre is proud to announce its staff training days (see flyer) for career and guidance counsellors from February 21 to 23, 2018. The goal is to offer an ambitious and informative programme mirroring the mainstreams of career counselling and guidance in higher education in Iceland.

The main focus will be on the services available at the University of Iceland, career management skills, and ICT in guidance, with emphasis on the sharing of best practices.  Along with the opportunity of professional enhancement, participants can experience the country´s unique nature and become inspired by the natural forces of Iceland.

Why participate?  This is an ideal opportunity to meet colleagues from Scandinavia and Europe who work with students in higher education. You will explore different elements of career counselling and guidance, be able to broaden your knowledge about career counselling and guidance in various European countries or as one of our participants said:

„I got new impressions, new ideas and new 'communication partners' around Europe for my professional field“.

And last but not least you will enhance your own professional development.

The application deadline is December 1, 2017 and you find the application form here. Please send applications to the e-mail

Participation fee is 30,000 ISK and covers coffee and refreshments in the morning and/or afternoon during the three days, lunch on Thursday, light lunch to go on Friday, meeting material and handouts, as well as meeting locations.

Practical information about Iceland, flights, hotels, and public transport are available here.
